EXPERT SEARCHING SERVICE

Provides expert searching of databases PubMed and Web of Knowledge and others

Teaches classes in database searching to researchers, graduate students, residents

Provides individualized sessions or tutorials teaching database searching

Performs more complex individual subject searches on research topics

Searches multiple databases for compliance with the Animal Welfare Act including the databases of the Animal Welfare Information Center.  The Act requires the searching of at least 2 or 3 databases as part of a grant application involving animal models

Web of Knowledge menu:

• Web of Science shows authors citing other authors and includes the numbers of citations
  
• BIOSIS Previews  has biological journals which are not in PubMed
  
• ISI Proceedings presents conference proceedings
  
• "All Databases" enables a federated search of MEDLINE (PubMed) along with Web of Science, BIOSIS Previews and ISI Proceedings and some government databases
  
• HighlyCited tells you which researchers are the most frequently cited by other authors and gives biographical data
  
• Biology Browser offers information about organisms and geography
