If you want to combine searches you've performed, click on the link for "Advanced Search" above the search box.
The Advanced Search screen presents your search history. You can combine your searches by typing the search number (proceeded by the pound sign "#") and using AND or OR. When you combine sets with "AND", you get only those articles that are contained in BOTH sets. When you use "OR", you get those articles that are in EITHER - but not necessarily both - sets. When you have combined your sets, click on the blue button labeled "Search".
