Services
Inter-Library Loan
The library will procure materials which are unavailable here from other libraries. Users are required to create an ILLiad account in order to user this service. This service is provided at no additional cost to the user UNLESS the request is for a RUSH DELIVERY. The fee for this is $11.00. An ILLiad account will allow users to make and receive requests online. In most cases requests are filled online. Users are also able to track the status of their requests.
Mediated searches
Fee-based searches are provided for users who prefer not to do their own searching of the available databases.
Expert searching
The library provides an expert searching for specialized databases. This service is available by appointment only x7501
Evidence-Based Health Care
Photocopy services
Photocopiers are available on the Main Floor and on the second floor of the library. SUNY Downstate ID cards with the smart chip may be used for photocopying at .10c per page. A Cash-to-Chip machine on the Main Floor will allow users to add value to these cards. A cash based photocopier is provided on the Main Floor for users who do not have the smart chip.
Printing
Printers are available on the Main Floor and in the Learning Resource Center (lower level) of the Library. Cost for printing is .10c per page in black and white and .75c per page in color. Users must purchase a Debitek (printing card) for $1.00 from any of the Debitek stations located near the printers. Debitek stations will also facilitate adding value to cards.
Group study rooms
Group study rooms are available on the second floor for periods of two hours. Rooms are checked out from the Access Services Desk on a first-come first-served basis.
Food and beverage policies apply in the group study rooms.
Safes
Safes are available for storing valuable possessions, including laptops and other electronic devices which can be charged. Enquire at Access Services for details.
