Using the Library

The library is open to all members of the SUNY Downstate Medical Center and all other SUNY campuses and physicians of affiliate institutions. Individual or group sponsorship by Downstate faculty is also available. Visitors of students, faculty or staff MUST obtain prior permission. See Access Services staff for details or call 718-270-7401. SUNY IDs or other approved cards MUST be displayed at all times.  IDs are routinely checked.

Internet access is available through both a hard-wired network and wireless connection.  Users with personal laptops will be required to download CleanAccess and install Downstate’s anti-viral software in compliance with campus requirements. Applicable prompts will appear on your screen when you try to log in. Help is available from the Library staff. Please enquire at the service desks.

CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE LIBRARY.
FOOD IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE LIBRARY. 
BEVERAGES IN LIBRARY-APPROVED CONTAINERS ARE ALLOWED.
