The Advanced Learning Resource Center

The Simulation Center Planning Committee presented the center's plan to Dr. Taylor in late July. HOK, the architects and designers, had interviewed the committee, colleges, hospital and others to understand the curriculum and training needs of the programs that would use the center, so that the plan would reflect these needs. All parties were pleased with the outcome of this first step in developing the Simulation Center. The Simulation Center Planning Committee and the Library partnered with the Student Technology Fee to create a Phase I Simulation Center, which will begin operations in September and the HOK process. Two manikins and a set of ultrasound units will provide educational and training opportunities to students and residents in the near term, while the larger center plan will begin to seek support on a broader scale.
